AUL’s Construction Math class, under the guidance of Mr. Gomez and Colorado Construction Institute’s Eric, have raised the walls on their tool shed! Students have been working diligently on this shed, bringing it from idea to fruition in just a handful of weeks. The class has covered topics of Algebra, including measurement, Pythagorean Theorem, area, perimeter, and converting values, as well as purchasing building supplies, safely using power tools, and organizing a team.
On Thursdays, the class has been going to the Troy Chavez Memorial Peace Garden to volunteer their time helping to keep this iconic neighborhood staple up and running with both their construction skills and their gardening skills.
